Cool but fine...

It's already cooling off here. Our week off has been so great and this afternoon I decided to take the boys to an awesome park where G. could ride his bike and T. could run and they could both play at the amazing park. (Oh and the snack shop? It has some mighty yummy fries!) Here are some pics of our time there today. (The Transformers are ones that they picked out today for being so good this week - they LOVE them)

Isn't the sky amazing? It was so blue and the clouds looked so neat!

Bees and Batman

Our attempt at a fun day at the park was cut short by bees! There were so many that we couldn't eat our lunch and had to come home. But first we did have some fun there - while swatting!
This is what our living room looked like after G. and his friend turned our fire truck tent into a house to play in.
T. took some time to dress up like one of his favourite characters!

Splish Splash and new wheels!

My mom can not find the charger to the red corvette that she and R. bought a few years back for G. (T. wasn't around then). So she just went and bought a brand new vehicle! Needless to say, the boys are thrilled and love their new set of wheels - at Grandma and Grandpa's house!
We were lucky enough to have Auntie S. here this past weekend and we went to the Dundas Park for the day. It was a perfect day and we all had so much fun!

Playing hooky

G. played hooky from camp today! Best decision of the week!
Before we left, we built this track and put the hot wheels cars on it.
If you had told me 15 years ago that I would be building car tracks and getting excited when the cars make it to the end, I wouldn't have believed you. But I am building those tracks - and I am getting excited - because these two boys make it so much fun! I cannot imagine spending the morning doing anything else!

After we let the cars ride on the track for a while, we headed to Safari. One of our most favourite places. It was a perfectly hot day today.
We started with some swinging...
Then of course we headed to the splash pad - it was HOT!

They look so grown up to me in this picture - slow down boys!!! You don't need to get any older than 7 and 3!
I love this one. Look at the pure joy on T's face. I wish I could bottle that up and take it out on a blah day.
Yes I know that T's towel says "GMF" and those are not his initials. Thankfully HE does not know that!
I think G. agrees that playing hooky was a great idea!

At the end of our time at Safari we had some treats.
How in the world did he get the ice cream that close to his eye?

It was a fabulous day. So happy that G. wanted to skip camp and hang out with us. There are only 3 weeks of summer left and I just want to squeeze every fun moment out of them!

New beds for the boys!

So we've had a weekend of musical beds. It was time for T. to make the move from a crib to a big boy bed. So first we took the Thomas bed out of G's room and brought up the black bed from the basement. Then G's room looked like this: Next we piled his stuff in a corner and assembled the bed. That looked like this:
Once the bed was together, his room looked like this:
We have bigger plans for G's room in the near future. Paint, wall stickers etc. But you'll have to wait for that - just like G. will.

This is what the boys did while P. was taking down the crib - that's the crib mattress they're lieing on. Kind of cute that it was each of their first bed and they're lieing on it for the last time together.P. taking down T's crib:
Hmmm, guess I'm not sleeping in that any more!
The view from T's new bed!
His bed all made up - with his very special blanket on it. Aren't the animal stickers so cute? I found them over a year ago and finally got them out and they just fit in the room so well!
I love the light coming into his room - and we were happy that that train table still fits!
I think it's fair to say that he's happy too. As I type this he is starting his first official sleep in his big boy bed! No transition at all - he climbed in and went right to sleep! Wow, hard to believe he is finished with the crib!
