T's baby

T. has taken a liking to a doll that he received his first Christmas from Grandma and Grandpa. He puts her on the potty and feeds her and cuddles her. It is adorable. I'm encouraging him to especially put her on the potty as we're trying to work towards that with him. Funny thing is that he always puts her diaper back on her. Tonight he decided that she should sleep with him. He recently asked for a pillow in his crib and along with the 8 stuffed animals he has, I thought it might be a bit crowded.
So we came up with this compromise: He was very pleased to have his baby so close to him at night.

Sunday in the sun!

This picture has been strategically taken to avoid nudity! T. played in the pool tonight in the buff and it was just too cute! Look at our toothless boy! He and P. worked together last night to pull out 2 teeth!
As you can see, he kind of likes the tattoos I bought. He is COVERED in them. Very patriotic.
T. telling G.G. how to play golf.
Grandma getting G. in a water fight!
G. trying super hard to refill his squirter before Grandma gets him!
My view of the boys from the deck. I love how they chat when they're playing.

School trip!

On Friday, G. and I went on a school trip together to the Museum of Steam and Technology.

Here we are on the bus:
Hi mommy!

He got to push the lever and move a 22 tonne wheel that is part of a very old steam engine. So cool!
You did it!
Here he is putting the car he built down a ramp to see if the wheels are the right kind to make a car go. The kids LOVED this!

It was a super fun day and I'm so glad I was able to go with him. He must have told me 5 times how happy he was that I was there. So nice!

Hard life according to a 6 year old

This morning Gabriel asked me "What inventions do we have that you didn't have when you were my age?".
Having not had my first coffee, I had to think hard about the question.
I finally understood and listed a bunch off.
"GPS, DVDs, ipods, remote for the car doors, digital cameras"
His reply: "Wow, you must have had a hard life".

I love this. You can put whatever words in that you want, play around with the font and colours and print and frame it! Such a great idea for Father's Day
You can make your own here!

M's

This is what I find every time I open G's container of pretzels after school. Since he was 4, he has saved the M's for me. Whether he eats the pretzels at school or at home, he always saves them.
I like to think he will still be doing this when he's 15 and a sullen teenager. A girl can dream, right?

Run run run!

Last night G. and I ran in our town's annual 5k race. It is a great community event that brings out thousands who walk and run either the 5k or 10k. There's even a 1k for the kids, which is a lot of fun to watch. G. has run the 1k for the past 2 years and this year wanted to run the 5k with me. So off we went!

Waiting for the race to start...At the beginning of our 5k...

We're almost there!
Crossing the finish line! We did it!I am so proud of G. because he woke up yesterday morning with a nasty cough and I wasn't sure if he was going to be able to run the race or not. When I asked him after school if he was ok to run it, his response was: "I didn't break my legs, of course I'm going to run!". Way to go G!!!

Oldies but goodies

I found these pictures of G., all taken in the month of June. They were taken on an old camera, so I always forget about them. I can't believe how little he was!
I love that you can see our old deck in the background of the first picture.

And there's our old gravel driveway.
And oh gosh that arm chair!

What a face!
